ADVOCATE OF GOD'S NAME
Lord, I am the advocate of your name;
I plead your cause and earn the reward
of fellowship with you.
        I am the advocate of your name, O Lord.
I have rejoined before the world's court,
on the points of God's law,
with a chastely fashioned answering speech,
tooled in gold;Heaven and Earth I hold as my witness.
Ceaselessy, I utter your name
and take it as my reward;
I deftly lay it up
as treasure in my heart.
        I am the advocate of your name.
Faith and the word of God
are the two legs of claim
that sustain my cause of action;
thus I plead with dexterity
the cause of your name.
        I plead your cause and earn the reward
        of fellowship with you.
The testimony I have buttressed
with proofs of God's Laws and Acts.
While engaged in such advocacy,
I realized Christ as my true Lord.
Eternal and incorruptible
is the treasure I have found,
and acting as the judge in my life,
deciding things for me,
is the peace of God.
        Lord, I am the advocate of your name;
        I plead your cause and earn the reward
        of fellowship with you.
In vain people labour
up the hill of their own works,
and down the valley of their own humiliations
in search of God;
I found the message
of His saving grace
close at hand,
in my mouth and in my heart.
        I am the advocate of God's name.
Meditation I use to cleanse my soul
by the washing of water through God's word.
Self-control is the scourge of cords
with which I beat my body free
of every weight that entangles my spirit.
Thus become God's righteousness in Christ,
I keep myself in His love.
Without wandering over hill and down dale,
or hunting after this path or that,
in a roundabout manner,
I run without fainting
in the plain, pleasant way
of God's messiah;
and His living love
has made a home in my heart
by the holy spirit.
        I am the advocate of God's name.
From God, in the presence of God,
on God's behalf, in Christ I speak.
God speaks through me, I am His mouth;
and I speak sure, pure truth with power.
His word shall not return void,
but blesses those who receive it.
My lips feed many.
I arouse the sleeping and call the dead to life.
        Lord, I am the advocate of your name.
Time has tolled the bell of quittance
from the drudgery of mundane advocacy.
The earthy nature is dead in me
and gone to its grave.
I have attained the realm of righteousness
and peace in the Holy Ghost
        Strengthened in faith, filled with joy.
Myself, God's advocate,thus pleading His cause,
realized Christ as the truth and the way of life.
My unbelief has vanished;
My afflictions are over.
        I am the advocate, O Lord, of your name;
        I plead your cause and earn the reward
        of fellowship with you.
