Ujamaa Christian Poetry
Shake it in the Fire
Paul was on an Island
The ship was wrecked and broken
He held his hand over a flame
built for warmth and sustenance
A snake jumped from the wood
viciously bit his hand
He did not run or panic
His faith was in the Man
The Man was Jesus, our Lord
knocked him off his horse that day
Called him on the Damascus road
Made that accuser behave
When the snakes of life attack you
Wherever you may roam
shake them all into the fire
It is His Word that makes us strong
