a new day.
there would be no me
capturing raindrops
with my eyes
or dancing with
sand storms stirred
by my feet
there would be
no hands out stretched
touching life on the tips
of rose petals or
setting
dandelions on the path of destiny.
one less nose greeting the
fragrance of spring,
the promise of life
resurrected
setting my soul free.
without you
there would be no me
hearing you everywhere
in everything
no me
waiting in expectation of a time
when all I'd
hear was the sound of
angels singing
no me anticipating
days of hope and laughter
dreams of love
and power …
and my tongue,
it would never taste the
liquid so sweet
that I could drink it forever.
with out you, daddy,
there would be
no me.
